U16s. Three way match

The U16s played their first home match after only six weeks of being together and they played out of their skins, in awful weather conditions.

First game played was against the Frome side who’d beaten them by 20-10 two weeks before.

The Norton side were aggressive in the tackle and breakdown area, this thwarted Frome’s big ball carriers. Olly Mead and Finley Maggs(2) were the scorers.

Frome then played Oldfield and came out on top by 20-0, with Finan Doyle, Kia Ryder, Alfie Mirdan and Fin Wright as try scorers.

Norton then played Oldfield and managed a 15-5 scoreline with tries by Freddie McCraw (2)and Josh Thomas. But they conceding a penalty try at the end of the first half for an infringement close to the try line.

The highlight was the team’s great spirit and a special mention should be made for Tom Williams, who put a massive shift in. His defensive effort stopped his opposition’s big lads powering through, and gaining any ground.
