Midsomer Norton RFC U18s

Wells U18s 24 v Midsomer Norton U18s 27

After a very frustrating season and only two games played, Norton’s colts travelled up the road to play Wells, in what would the older age groups last game before moving to senior rugby.

Last season it was a one point victory, so Norton knew this was going to be another hard fought game and that is exactly what it turned out to be.

It didn’t look if that would be the way with the visitors taking a three try lead with tries by Finn, lil Jake and Deadly and a conversion by George.

Wells then hit back with two tries of their own.

Both teams were keen to spread the ball wide, Finn intercepted a pass ten metres from the Wells line as they tried to play their way out of defence and powered his way over their try line.

Wells scored another before Finn got his hat-trick, after some really good build up play by both the forwards and backs.

Two tries by the home team in the last quarter, made for a nervy finish.

But Norton held on to win by 27-24

Another good performance by captain Jake Hobbs Simpson but Man of the Match was Finn Shakespeare, scoring a hat-trick and good clearance kicks to touch.
