Midsomer Norton RFC U16s

Norton’s new boys travelled to Old Redcliffians for their final game of the season.

On a very warm day and no subs on the bench, they put in a great shift, playing a sixty minute game, with plenty of drink breaks.

Norton started brightly and with tries by Riley (3), Owen and Harry, Old Reds replied scoring two tries. Norton had 25-10 lead at the end of the first third.

Norton then moved up through the gears in the second third, pulling away with two tries apiece by Dom and Josh. Freddie and Finn then also scored tries. Reds replied scored one in return.

In the final period Old Reds, who had four subs then came out the stronger, and achieved a three try to one advantage. Owen Bird replied for Norton getting his second.

This was a good performance, in what was a very physical game, resulting in one player from each side having injuries that needed checking. Harry from Norton suffered a whiplash injury in the final play of the game.

These lads will be a great addition to the Colts side, when they move up next season.

We couldn’t name a Man of the Match but Max, Harry and Josh all had strong games.
