A new primary school and residential development in Midsomer Norton

What is being proposed

The proposed development, on 6.5 hectares of land located to the south of Midsomer Norton on either side of Silver Street, will provide for a new three form entry (630 places) primary school which would be facilitated by some limited additional development comprising a mix of residential, a care home and sheltered housing.

The scheme also includes significant improvements to the highway, reductions in speed limits, public open space and two new footpaths. One footpath would link Midsomer Norton with the proposed development site (including the school) and Midsomer Norton Rugby Club to the south and the second, through Norton Hill School, would link the site with the Charlton Park residential area and the rest of the settlement beyond.
