Rex Ladd

Bereavement of Rex Ladd

Rex played for MNRFC in the 1950s and features in a photograph of the club v Somerset Constabulary in 1957. Pip Greenman and Basil Durnford also feature in this photograph which is displayed at the clubhouse. Rex was a good all round sportsman playing at scrum half for the Grammar School and the club and more lately golf at Mendip.

Rex lived in Midsomer Norton all his life and was initially a mine surveyor for the National Coal Board and when the mines closed went on to set up a land surveying practice in Bristol and Radstock.

He is survived by his sons Steve and Rich and wife Shirley who famously burnt his rugby boots on the fire when she thought it was time for him to retire.

Funeral service at Haycombe crematory Bath on Tuesday 16th August at 11:30am.
